Anti Saloon League aka Bourbon & Branch

One of the highlights of GDC parties this year was the Kore party. We’ve known the founders of Kore since they were first starting up Havok. The party was hosted in a cool bar just this side of the sketchy part of downtown San Francisco. The bar is named Bourbon and Branch and had a lot of character. You walk up to an unlabeled, nondescript doorway and press the buzzer. The door opens and a cute girl in 20’s period clothing asks you for the password. You say it and they let you into a prohibition era bar. The party was in a back room accessible only via a one way secret doorway built into a liquor cabinet. Pretty cool. They have all kinds of infused liquor drinks. Each one was tasty and I particularly enjoyed the cucumber gimlet. We went back later in the week, didn’t have the password and they still let us in. Dan and I remarked that a bar like this could make a killing in downtown Raleigh.
