Plants vs. Zombies Review

One of the things that made my 6am flight to Las Vegas bearable on Friday was the fact that I could play Plants Vs. Zombies on my iPhone. I have to say that this is probably the best iPhone game that I’ve played thus far. At $2.99, it is well worth the price. What is there to like:

  • Whimsical art style. Cute little plants take on cute, but brain-munching zombies
  • Great tower-defense gameplay
  • A wide variety (~50) plants to choose from
  • Great difficulty progression. Good gentle introduction to new plant and zombie types
  • Several gameplay modes.
  • 50 missions in Adventure mode, with a wide variety of environment types (day/night/front yard/ back yard with pool/roof
  • Hilarious end credits music video
  • A wide variety of zombie opponents (Bobsled/Zamboni/Bucket head/Michael Jackson/Porpoise)

Really the only bad thing about the game was that the frame rate could get bad when the entire screen was full.
